Viva la vacation.

My husband and I just got back from an amazing six days in Mexico — a landmark event, since this was a (somewhat belated) celebration of our 10th anniversary, AND marked the first time we'd been away by ourselves, for more than a weekend, since C joined our family. (Actually, the last time we went on vacation  somewhere sunny and warm by ourselves, I was eight weeks pregnant, and so spent most of that vacation lying around feeling queasy and eating oyster crackers. But I digress.)

Anyway, C went to my parents' house for a week of fun (yes, I know how lucky I am, and yes, I will be eternally grateful to my parents for agreeing to watch our four year old for a week), and we headed south., to the lovely Rosewood Mayakoba. Margaritas, guacamole, gorgeous weather, and almost a whole week of relaxing in the sun with my husband made for a perfect break. And even though my return to the office brought on an immediate and enormous return to reality, just having a few days away really made me look at things with a fresh perspective.

I hate to admit it, since we just returned home, but I'm already thinking of excuses to go away again. Viva la vacation!
